Pif uses Arturo\u2019s unrequited love story as the vehicle to narrate the most tragic events in Italy\u2019s recent history, starting with the Cosa Nostra\u2019s criminal actions in Sicily in the \u201970s, which soon spread through the country (encompassing the barbaric murder of judges Falcone and Borsellino, an event that Pif handles with astounding boldness). THE MAFIA KILLS ONLY IN SUMMER spans 20 years of a life filled with passion and laughter and is a brave and intelligent dark comedy with powerful message.<\/p>\n<p>Un Giorno da Italiani\/ Italy in a Day (9 PM)<\/p>\n<p>A documentary Out of Competition at the 71st Venice Film Festival.<br \/>Based on Kevin Macdonald\u2019s concept for \u201cLife in a Day,\u201d Oscar-winning director Gabriele Salvatores has created a touching mosaic of life in Italy during one day; October 26th, 2013.<br \/>Italians were asked to record and send in videos via their smartphones or video cameras. The result is a collage of 632 videos selected among the 44,197 sent from all over Italy exposing everyday Italians\u2019 hopes and fears. This experiment portrays Italy through the eyes of Italians, going inside their homes and letting them decide what to show and share.
