In order to make our services more efficient, the Consulate General receives applications ONLY by appointment, apart from proven urgent cases. However, not all services require personal attendance as some can be processed by email. Some services can also be provided without an appointment simply by attending the Consulate during opening hours. In particular:

DO I HAVE TO COME IN PERSON TO THE CONSULATE?


Not all services require personal attendance as some can be processed by post or by email, as per the following examples:

DO ALL THE SERVICES PROVIDED TO APPLICANTS ATTENDING THE CONSULATE IN PERSON REQUIRE AN APPOINTMENT?


No. Not all services require an appointment. Some services can be provided without an appointment simply by attending the Consulate during opening hours, as per the following examples:
-
issue of Emergency Travel Documents following the theft or loss of passport/ID card;
-
authentication of signatures;
-
legalizations;
-
parental authorization for children under 14 to travel accompanied by a third party;
-
authentication of photographs;
-
insertion of parents’ names on a minor’s passport;

HOW CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

To make an appointment for the first time you must register with your details and an email address (this is an essential requirement). You will receive a confirmation email of your registration which will allow you to activate your account and will give you access to the online booking system (NB: if you have a free email account, e.g. Yahoo, Hotmail, Terra, Gmail, etc., the confirmation email may not arrive immediately and may go to your “Junk” or “Spam” folders, so please check them).

Once you have successfully registered, you can access your account by entering your username/password and then clicking on “Login”. You then need to select the office you require. NB: to book an appointment you must click on the office required, NOT on the white envelope which only sends an email to the Consulate.

As the system is automatic and non-manned, you will need to manage your account yourself. Consular officers cannot override the system. Please note that appointment booking times only become available for a short while according to the service required (from 30 to 90 days, extended on a daily basis). If you find a date is full, please wait until the next day to try again.

NB: the appointments system will only function properly if a) personal details are inserted correctly, and b) if due respect is shown for the needs of other people who find themselves in the same situation. In order to help us provide a satisfactory service, please cancel any appointments that are no longer required.

We strongly advise you check the relevant page of our website relating to the service required for the procedures to be followed when you arrive at the Consulate for your appointment .

For security reasons, please do not bring any suitcases, large items, backpacks or pushchairs into the Consulate. The Consulate is not responsible for any items left either inside or outside our building.

Please be aware all applicants, including children and minors, are required to attend in person the day of the appointment
Payments of consular fees can be made in cash (AED).
